UCF RESTORES Executive Director, Dr. Deborah Beidel presents: From Combat to Crisis: Reinventing PTSD Treatment
Legacy Pointe at UCF Auditorium
February 26 | 3:30 pm
Dr. Beidel will discuss a novel treatment for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that was first developed to treat PTSD as a result of military combat in Iraq and Afghanistan. The treatment’s success led to its use with first-responders, including treatment in the aftermath of mass casualty incidents. The impact of this unique treatment and its ability to challenge the beliefs that PTSD is a chronic and disabling condition will be discussed. Finally, the nuances of working with first responders during natural and man-made disasters will be discussed. Come learn about Dr. Beidel’s incredibly impactful work–this will be a lecture you won’t want to miss.
